Kebawah Duli Yang Maha Mulia Seri Paduka Baginda Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V, Berkenan menerima kunjungan hormat Presiden Republik Sosialis Demokratik Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena di Istana Negara. Ketibaan Presiden Sirisena disambut Sultan Muhammad V yang diiringi Timbalan Ketua Setiausaha Kementerian Luar Datuk Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob. Kunjungan berkenaan merupakan yang pertama melibatkan pemimpin luar sejak Sultan Muhammad V memegang jawatan itu pada 13 Disember 2016  menggantikan Sultan Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah yang tamat tempoh pemerintahan sebagai Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Ke-14 Pada 12 Disember 2016.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Sultan Muhammad V, has received a courtesy call from the President of the Sri Lankan Democratic Socialist Republic, Maithripala Sirisena at the State Palace. The arrival of President Sirisena was greeted by Sultan Muhammad V who was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Datuk Muhammad Shahrul Ikram Yaakob. The visit was the first to involve foreign leaders since Sultan Muhammad V held the post on December 13, 2016 to replace the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah who expires as the 14th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on 12 December 2016.
